Is security PREVENTION in the healthcare industry enough?

By Hendrik Jansen  - February 21, 2019

Is the healthcare industry still convinced that PREVENTION against cyber threats is enough?

Many companies and institutions still believe they are doing all they can to PREVENT cybercriminals from doing some real damage. And as long as nothing has happened to you (or as long you don't know about it) that version of the truth is in the eye of that single beholder.

Sometimes it helps to take a step back, and you will see things from a different perspective. Reading the article from Healthcare IT News indeed changes the discussion, nobody can argue any different after reading this collection of breaches.

HEALTHCARE industry wake up!

There is no 100% prevention, cybercriminals do not make it personal nor make it about you or your organization, you are simply COLLATERAL DAMAGE in their attempts to hack anything that could be worth anything.

The moment you accept that fact, it will not only change your perspective, it will also change your thinking about your current strategy, plans, the way how you do your budgeting. When you realize that prevention is never, and will never be 100%, you need a plan B, and that plan is to get the ability to DETECT and RESPOND quickly.
