The US Treasury issued an Executive Order to prohibit US organizations from engaging with ERPScan, a subsidiary of Digital Security and provider of security software and services for SAP® systems. According to the press release issued by the Treasury, Digital Security “provided material and technological support to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB)”. ERPScan has denied any link with the FSB in an official statement.

There are a few dedicated companies in the ERP security market worldwide, real solution providers in the market of ERP Security and SAP® Security that have demonstrated a universal commitment to innovation including advances such Detection, Real Time Monitoring into SIEM systems, GDPR (read more about this at ), Health Check Scanning, PenTesting.

The Executive Order has highlighted to SAP® customers that the threats are arising. It is time to realize that threats are out there (not IF, WHEN, that is the question), and every SAP® customer needs to balance the RETURN ON INVESTMENT (RoI) versus the RETURN ON RISK (RoR),

The times for “we wish the problem was not around” are truly over.
